The arrival of some warmer summer weather meant a change of tactics as the heat settled down and as expected the best of the fishing being early mornings and evenings where dry fly did well as fish rose happily to take.During the day fish could be picked up, albeit not in great numbers as fish lay low with water temperatures upto 60 degrees.Best flies over the week were Black hoppers,CDC,s,Buzzers and lime and green Bunny leech and pink bunny leechs.Chris Johnston caught and returned after weighing a 15lb rainbow,David Geddes had an 8lb fish,Kev Barron a 5lber,Stuart Patterson an 8lb 1oz fish,Dave Simpson had a nice rainbow of 6lb 11ozs,Peter Collins had a 6lb 5ozs Blue and a 5lb 9ozs rainbow,

Mondays is special ticket day for OAPS,disabled, students and unemployed with ticket prices from £5 to £15 for 4 to 8 hours fishing making it affordable for all.Proof is required.

Coarse Loch

With warmer water the coarse fish have really turned onto the feed and some really good bags of fish are being taken.Roach,Ide,Bream all to good sizes and Perch and hybrids also coming to the net.Main bait has been Red maggot and fished practically just under your feet has done well.Sunday 21st june is the next coarse competition which has pegs drawn at 9am and fishing starts at 10am and finish at 3pm.There is still a couple of places remaining for this one.Coarse season tickets are now available and contact the fishery if interested.

Milbuies trout fishery

Rises have been very good on the lochs and fishing good on the dry and wets.Plenty of decent fish being taken by anglers who have very good sport. Both lochs have fished well especially around margins as fish wait for falling insects and  with warmer conditions set to continue good sport should also follow.
