Well never thought I would be saying we had snow at the end of April , It started out great with bright spells , a little cloud cover and then …Hail stones !! Plummeting temperature and ever changing pressures made the fishing tough. A Group of first time Fly fisherman came out to spend the day with us and after some guidance and demonstrations went out to see if they could net themselves their first trout, unfortunately the Strong winds and changing conditions proved to be too difficult and even the experienced angler struggled this weekend. T. Innes and B. Wright netted 2 and 3 respectively, S. Crockett tempted 4 up to 3lb with a cracking “Haddo” brownie.
Most fish went to Diawl Bach, Buzzers or Fritz. Here is hoping the weather makes up its mind and we can get onto the Dry Flies soon.
