Glen of Rothes trout fishery
A quietish week ending with windy conditions making it not alot of fun for casting in but those who ventured out had good sport with some good fish among the returns.Best patterns were once again in white and lime, such as cats whiskers, white fritzs.During the week when it became a little milder there was activity toward the surface and nymphs and spider patterns in black and lime worked well as did the buzzers which was great to see rather than having to drag lures in the deeps and it made sport alot more interesting.Graham Gibson landed an 8lb 9os fish from his 15 on the day,John Watt had an 8lb 4ozs fish,Jimmy Rhind had 14 fish with his best at 5lb 3ozs,Gordon Grant had 17 and David Peel had a fish of 5lb 11ozs.
The AGM of the club is on Sunday 22nd Feb at 3 .30pm at the fishery for all club members.
Coarse Loch
Fish began to feed this week and anglers enjoyed some late winter sport with roach and bream been taken on red maggot along with many missed bites.Method feeder was the best tactics this week especially in the strong wind.Meat did take some fish at times but nothing like the maggot.
Millbuies trout fishery
The lochs are now open again and bookings been taken. We will be putting in 2 new boats in the coming months which will see 6 good boats available on the lochs. We will put out only 4 for normal day angling with the full 6 available for club outings only.

An update on opening day at Millbuies.

John Shearson enjoyed the first day out with over 50 fish Mostly Browns(to be expected) with his best at 4lbs 8ozs which has never been stocked,The rest were all over the 2lb mark showing the rich feeding in the lochs and has suited the browns well over the winter and have really packed the weight on and were in prime condition. It bodes well for a great season on the lochs.Pictures of todays fishing are up on our facebook pages.
