Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

As suggested last week the weather has settles during this week but temperatures have remained unseasonably high and light conditions have been variable with lo cloud and drizzle predominating. This has resulted in the fish feeding habits being a bit unpredictable and has necessitated the anglers to chase the fish through the water column. As expected at this time of year lures rule supreme but the method of fishing is variable with anglers enjoying success on floating and sinking lines with variable retrieves.
This weeks top catches went to J Abel, Fraserburgh who on three visits, netted a total of 48 fish on Montana, Cat's Whisker, Bloodworm and Blobs. Other recorded catches this week were; M Stewart, Methlick, 16 fish, (Montana), K Reid, Gardenstown, 13 fish, (Green Montana), J Mackay, Macduff, 11 fish, (Green/Brown Fritz), K Armstrong, Fraserburgh, 11 fish, (Yellow Fritz), M Donald, Peterhead, 10 fish, (Cat's Whisker), A Murray, Gardenstown, 10 fish, (Green Fritz), L Davidson, Macduff, 9 fish, (Nomad), B Cresswell, Macduff, 8 fish, (WSW).
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water ans is open seven days from 8am til 4pm (as light permits). Visitors and novices are welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. The forecast for the coming week remains quite settled although towards the weekend we should expect a lowering of temperature..
Apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day the fishery will remain open over the festive period. For up to date information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
