I have a book at home (Osprey Series - Sharks - K.Linnane I think) with a brilliant picture of Jack, with a heavily bent rod in one hand, and hanging on to the back of his lad's jumper with the other as the youngster leans out over the rocks to gaff a monster.

Thanks for sharing! I understand that large Threshers and Porbeagles are seen within casting distance of Sumbrugh Head. Now that would be fun...but I would leave the gaffs at home.

My old Shetland of him buddy, Davie Pottinger used to chase 'em around the Shetland coast. Remember seeing some amazing phonies of him with these sharks, some remarkably close to the shore.

One memorable set of two pics had some people on Spiggie Beach watching on, next photo is them all legging it as the shark beached itself
