Glen of rothes trout and coarse fishery

The week got off to a great start, especially for angler George Stewart snr who had a brilliant session.Normally here turns all fish but a request from a friend for fish saw him take a 2 fish ticket and this gave him one of his best days ever. His first fish was a 10lbs 3ozs Brown trout and followed up with a 7lb9ozs Rainbow to complete his bag of 17lbs 12ozs for 2 fish.Throughout the rest of the week fishing continued to produce very good fish for anglers,John Watt had a 4lb,er,Brian Laird a 4lb 4ozs,David Douglas a 4lb 4ozs,Jimmy Rhind a 4lb 13ozs fish among his 10,11 fish for Benz Mckenzie,Eddie Anderson got his PB with a fish of 5lb 8ozs,Archie Miller a 4lb fish,Andrew More a 5lb9ozs and a 4lb 2ozs fish,Neil Smith a 4lb 1oz and Willie McRobbie a 4lb 5oz, Best flies were varied from yellow dancers,WSW,s white fritz, buzzers such as lime and white okey dokey andcats whiskers to kate mclarens all worked their magic.Mainly floating lines were used due to lack of wind and fish were close to the top feeding hard.
The club competition was a good day for all with plenty of fish caught and average size well over 3lbs.The overall winner for this month was Andrew More With 2 fish for 8lbs 1ozs.The next club comp is Sunday 26th Oct and is a 6 fly pick and mix. Each angler chooses 6 flies consisting of 3 lures,2 wet flies and a buzzer and place them in a bag and then each angler will pick a bag from the hat to use.Start time will be 9.30am.

The coarse loch
Steady fishing here which is producing more of the silver fish now with a few carp being caught also. With temps now changing tactics and methods are also changing to suit conditions. We also saw one of the ghosts this week,a Tench, often asked about by anglers and a really beautifull fish often refferred to as the doctor fish. The loch has a whole host of variety of fish for anglers which makes it very interesting fishing.

Millbuies trout fishery

Fishing was very good for those anglers on the loch with Donald Patience and Peter Raetaking 25 fish between them,John Shearson a regular on the water had 10 fish and the best this week was 4lb 9ozs.The lochs are in prime condition and will remain open and depending on weather conditions.keys collected at the loch but bookings still through the Glen.
