Hi folks  

I am holding a Haddo Bamboo Gathering on Saturday August the 25th, starting at the usual 9.30 in the morning and finishing at about 4pm.

As per the last gathering, this is a very simple event, bamboo or split cane fly rods only on the day and you can fish from the boats or the float tubes ....... whichever you prefer ...... a chance for bamboo enthusiasts to get together and have a good blether

Are good old British split cane rods allowed or is it restricted colonial  bamboos

Mark ,i have an older split cane you can borrow, its a 6 weight and restored.
quite different to fish with, but it works.
I'll be there first thing, so if i'm gone when you turn up i'll leave it with mr Mike.

got a 12 year old who is crazy about fly fishing in every aspect, hope no one minds if i bring her along, so she can see this type of fishing that shes never seen before!

Thanks for organising another good day for fishing with grass.  Obviously not too many people think about bamboo and rainbow together in Aberdeenshire but I had a great time and I think we have a convert in Mark!
