I am going for a weeks holiday to Dumfries and Galloway in the Newton Stewart area mid August. Hoping to do a spot of fishing in some of the local lochs. I fished Kirrieroch Loch some 15 years ago with some good sport for wild Brownies, the Giant Midges can be a pest though. Wondered if anyone had fished any of the other lochs in the area, I believe Loch Dee is quite a productive Loch. I've already emailed the Newton Stewart Angling Association without any reply so any advice, tactics etc would be greatly appreciated.

I have emailed them on several occasions and received no reply.  Mind you they are not unique in that respect. The "new owners"  of the Don beats  that used to be controlled by the hotel at Bridge of Alford do not answer their emails either; what the hell is the point advertising  in on FishDon if they don't read / reply ?  Mind you having said that, what is the point of FishDon?

Used to holiday at Three Lochs Caravan park as a kid.  Fantastic coarse fishing on Lochs Heron and Ronald (near Glenluce) - some very big Pike if you are interested. 
I also fished a small tributary of the Bladnoch (Luce Water I think).  Lovely wee stream with some nice brownies.
