Haddo Trout Fishery ( To July 30th ) New

Hi folks

Prolific hatches and surface activity produced some superb sport at Haddo this week and the wind blew even more tasty offerings from the trees.

Large olives, sedge and big black midge were high on the menu, these midge are bigger than hawthorns and haven't made an appearance on the loch for a couple of seasons  :shock

Hare's Ear Klink, F-Fly, spiders, sedge, Bibio, CDC emergers, Hoppers and the Daddy proved productive this week  :wink

Alan Rattray tempted 9 fish up to approx 5 lb for his evening in the float tube and introduced his friend Greg Price to "armchair fishing", Greg netting 4 including a 10 lb rainbow on CDCs. Sandy Reid also found "a good tow" when he caught 8 fish up to 10 lb and Vanessa Price had great fun on her maiden voyage too, taking home a nice fish for the table.

From the boats, Noel Kelly tempted a cracking blue trout of 9 lb+, Jamie Harrison a 10 lb rainbow, Tam Greenock a personal best fish of approx 10 lb followed by another in the same session estimated at 14 lb+, Scott Sim netted 11 fish up to approx 8 lb then 9 up to 9½ lb on a second session and Graham Hartley netted 10 fish for his evening including 3 rainbows in the 10 lb to 15 lb range.

Best wishes
Mike Barrio
