The rod is new, it was tried on the water once. I've had an NS-first generation, and this was an upgrade based on the warranty.
The rod is a "first run"- with full wells grip and a silver-anodized metal reel seat, typical T&T quality. It has a mini fighting butt, which is different to the actual serial specs. It arrived to me in december, was out from the tube two times. I have few other five weights, and a new snare drum is coming, so this has to go...
The rod is a tad slower than the first gen NS, it's a truer 5 wt, the ferrules were slimmed down- still beefy, tho'. It's a versatile, powerful 5 wt rod.
