Just back from offshore, was out from 12 - 2. Sporadic march brown hatches throughout the day with not much to be seen. First rise seen and I covered it followed by a gentle take, it felt like a fish of a lb, then it leaped out and was about 4 lb. I was not really in control thinking it was small and after about 2 mins it came off 😡.
Annoyed but well happy to be out again 👍. Well done everyone else so far.

One from Lower River today, still covered in lice.  Had a few trout too but nothing worth getting the camera out for.

Hey Geoff, had a brief chat with yourself today as you were heading downstream. Had a wander up to one of the spots you mentioned and had a few casts, had a brief encounter with a good fish but broke me. Need to look at my knots with fluorocarbon or go back to ultragreen. Didn't stay out much longer as the rain got the better of me but did see a few fish feeding on march browns but no more takes.

Andy,

Unfortunate about the fish. What tippet are you using?

Liam, it's climax fluorocarbon. TBH think it was a bit on the light side for wets but was in a bit of a rush and should have set up a proper cast. Saying that not had much luck with light fluro in the past so could easily be my knot choice.

Officially hello Andy.
If your knots seem good check your tippet as last season I had a few breaks and tippet was rotted I think as it broke in hand really easy.
