Some very sad River Don news
« on: 18/07/2007 at 07:54 »
I have just been told that Jim Kerr (senior) who retired a couple of years ago as the head bailiff/superintendent passed away suddenly earlier this week.

This is very sad news as Jim was a unique figure and arguably the driving force behind the good works undertaken at the Don hatchery at Newe. Many Don regulars will have their own memories of Jim and I for one enjoyed the banter we used to have back in the days when the family business was a well known fishing hotel in upper Donside.

I'm sure all our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Jim (junior) and the whole family at this sad time. I'm not sure when the funeral is yet or indeed if it will be private.

Cheers hamish

Not great news to come home too.
I'll join you in sending my regards to the family.
