The majority of catches fell to lures with WSW, Cat's Whisker and Blobs being the preferred options and the fish responding to quick retrieve  in the upper water column. C Watt from St Fergus recorded a personal best of 13lb 2oz during his productive trip.
The best recorded catches this week were; C Watt, St Fergus, 22 fish, (Cat's Whisker), J West, Fraserburgh, 19 fish, (Blob, Cat's Whisker), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 14 fish, (Various lures), N Thomson, Turriff, 9 fish, (Fritz, Cormorant), D Furey, Peterhead, 9 fish, (Blobs), L Davidson, Macduff, 8 fish, (Nomad), C Anderson, Macduff, 7 fish, (Cormorant).
The forecast for the next few days is decidedly mixed but the period between Christmas and New Year may be more settled.
