Hi Rob.

Casting with this rod and big or heavy streamers is so, so and so ease. Even it is heavier than graphite rods I expect to be little bit tier, but I was wrong. Yes you can fill more weight but you forget this when you start fishing.

If you measure your vote to buy or not, my suggesting is you should buy for fishing pike.

These days weather become bad for fishing - again I am in T-Shirt :)

Cheers Djordje

Thanks Djordje :)

I have more than enough Pike fly rods, I am sure if I had any more I would be kicked out the house!  :cry

What size flies are you throwing with this rod?

Finally I captures two days to start my pike season in this year. I spent pike time on Joca lake, North part of Serbia. My plan was 4 days but snow stopped my pike time. But, two days was enough to get my final opinion about Epic rod (990-4 - my Pike Time Rod).

Easy casting, I spent about 8 hours in boat with short pause and without be weary of casting. Rod with fish on - perfect.

No problem with any type of streamers. Line was Rio Outbond Short Coldwater F and F/I

Pike on hook ...max about 4kg. Photos soon.

Cheers

Looks like a good day out. I went to fish on Sunday but the wind was straight in my face and the loch was the colour of fizzy bum gravy, so I did not even take the rod out of the car :(
