Summer? -1 degrees C at mine this morning! Been tying flies and making titanium leaders the last few nights and hope to get out for my first Pike session on Saturday.

Please do let us know how it is when you try it.

Finally weather was nice and I had time to test and try "Pike Time"
I changed a lot of streamers and few lines. I found the best choice was Rio Max II - 10F/I
What I could say about rod (blank). It has all what I expect from pike rod, really all characteristic which I need.
Casting was easy controlled, smooth and relaxed.

I had few different catch on the rod, but no one so enough to fill secret power of rod.

Now I can only wait Mike's new Pike Barrio Lines on the stock :)

For now, I am sure, I do not need any other rod, maybe just one more Epic 990 for uneven bad situation during fishing  :z6

Maybe Fulling Mill will put your Shoe Fly into production?  :X2

Was the Epic an easy rod to cast with bigger flies? The blanks I had rolled here were made with a fast recovery, but a more through action as I honestly think big, heavy flies do not suit fast action rods with "average" casters.
