It is funny you posted this as on friday I passed an angler who had just turned up to fish on an R1. He had a plastic tube fixed to the tail with his rod rod pointing back at a 45 degree angle, just like he was trolling for Marlin!

I used to carry my rod across my back on my CBR whilst riding in neoprene waders. Not the safest option  :X1
