Hi all visiting lake of menteith on 2nd september not fished there in years and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on flys to use of drifts/areas to try. i know there are many comps ran on the water and its all cloak and dagger stuff but any help from a regular would be greatfull. and in exchange.... wait for it... im happy to share a little sugar iv disvovered this year and has been catching alot of fish in small and large waters for the boys in my club. so much so out of 36 members 30 of them always have one someware on his cast.... and the best bit is for you comp boys saying to yourselfs now il telling this lad nout its comp legal.... many thanks again for any help.

I have fished three cometitions their, the winning flies have always been at least a size 2/0 ;)

Best advice is to fish the water an learn it as every day is differant. Flies are not near as important as areas or depth of fish. I fished it more over the last 5 years than I have done days at work!
Experience on the water will out weigh someone passin you a handfull of flies and pointing you towards the cages!
