He seems to have been mentally scarred by them as a youth. Something about ending up with a handful  of cork when attempting to aerialize long and heavy sinking lines I think.

Peem,

Really.  The review  will be fair and  balanced. It's actually nae a bad book and would be very useful for anyone new to wild loch troot catchin'. Quite humorous too in parts.

I have, in the past,  had a  wee bit of a "run in" with the author, but Stan is not a bad writer, if somewhat opinionated.

But then again some might say that's a bit of the old  "pot calling the kettle black".   Fair enough, but please remember  that my banning from the Petty Loops forum for posting links to superb free online fishing resources  should  have no bearing on this  perception either way.  Especially as some recent  "correspondence" indicates  that I am not the only recent recipient of that honour.

OH YES!

After today even more so.

Took My Barrio Bamboo out in the tube again today (becoming something of a habit)
Complete with DT3F and a 4-3lb stepped nylon leader, size 16 red hook.

Caught my biggest fish to date All 14lb of it, fabulous fish and on the Boo it was incredible, no problems at all and it swum away strongly, pity Mikes camera is toast :z6

I'm still shaking now :z4  :z4
