Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Artloch (to 14 May)
« on: 16/05/2007 at 19:30 »
With some good olive hatches, it has been another good week for rising fish at Artloch Fishery.   While a significant number of anglers have been using a variety of dries, the most successful have been using small black or olive dries, size 18 and buzzers, including white.    Successful sub-surface patterns have included Kate McLaren, Bibio and various nymphs, including the Diawl Bach.

Examples of baskets include B Ross, J Wilson, I Ward, M Mair and G Simpson who each tempted 10, while S Ray improved with 11, best at 5lbs.  I Sutherland enjoyed his 3 visits releasing 12, 14 and 19 respectively, all on dries and best at 5lbs while P Guy released 12, best at 5 lbs.   T Sampson tempted 15, best at circa 7lbs, but top rod went to L Wood who released 24, best at 3 1/2 lbs.    Lady angler Y Mackland weighed in a lovely 8lbs 4 ozs bow while K Smith released a cracking rainbow circa 12lbs.

Artloch is closed to casual anglers on Sundays 20 and 27 May.
