Very pretty scenery on the Dee today but a bit cold on the toes. My first day out and nothing but one dunt for my efforts.

Next time maybe.

Eddie

Only the one that took a pull at my fly broke the surface, otherwise nothing showing. At least I didn't have to break the ice to get into the pool. I have seen that happening in the old days when the river opened in February above Aboyne Bridge.

Twas talking to a group of Norwiegens at the Legion last night. They are a bit fed up as they book the same week each year and last year was a nightmare as they turned up with big water 10-11 weight outfits to be met with summer conditions, this year they arrived with 8-9 weight outfits to be met with high, coloured water.

Wallys..lol  :X1

Not seen any fish or had any touches in 2 days.  ???

It is on one of the beats between Aboyne and Ballater. The low cloud and snow has completely blotted out the hills in the background so it is hard to recognise unless you know the beat well.

Enjoyed a great day out in the "fresh air" with Irvine, Hamish and Ben at Glen Tanar yesterday, waving rods that are far too long, in conditions that were far too windy ..... yes a most enjoyable day out

Beautiful beat, with pools that felt fishy all day! ........ but no fish pics this time I'm afraid.

I fished hard for most of the day, so didn't get many photos I'm afraid, but I caught up with Hamish and Ben later in the afternoon and got these ones.
Many thanks for a grand day out Irvine :z16

Cheers
Mike

great photos, thanks for sharing. Let's hope the wind stops and warms up for a dry fly or a BBQ.  :z18
