the Take!

So I'm out there with 75 feet of a barrio GT125 in front of me, and I begin quick strip retrieve. The line tightens and I feel a pulse of adrenaline as I instinctively strike....

... only to pull the piece of pink yarn free from the tuft of grass that had 'taken' it.

should add that I was of course on a football pitch at the time, casting on the grass....
I've obviously been away from real fishing too long...

Iain, get a cat!

Its reallyexciting...you can see then stalkingthe yarn..speed up and they move in, slow down and they lay low. Suddenly they burst out the long grass and nail the yarn.

Sometimes they give a long run, often through bushes, sometimes they jump...but it is rare to land one!!

My biggest so far was a cat called Toby. About 12lb in weight!!

a pulse of adrenaline as I instinctively strike....

I still remember the day I was standing outside the hut enjoying a nice cuppa and watching Chris McAllister fishing dries ...... a fish rose nicely to his fly, I instinctively struck and ended up with a face covered in coffee :z4  :z4  :z4

There have certainly been one or two anglers fishing Loriston that have hooked passing vehicles :)

..but some people do it as there profession!
