Lechlade lakes
« on: 28/01/2013 at 15:15 »
Aye aye folks,

Planning a road trip south bound to Lechlade lakes north of Swindon, they breed large trout apparently upto 30lb ( although I pretty sure there aren't many that size) but double figures are common place.
Has anyone been there i was wondering?? If so what did you think??

Cheers
Adam

I know there are big pike in there...37lbs+ is the biggest I know of!

Its a well known place and very nice to look at. Its been on various programmes (Matt Hayes for one) and is well set up.

If big grown on fish are what you are after, then there are not many places that could compete.

Hi Rob, I did see some pike on the website and I did wonder. No wonder they are big if they have unlimited trout on the menu. I've seen Matt Hayes and John Wilson fish it that how I found out about it.
3-4 of us are gonna road trip there for my 30 th on a long weekend.
At £60 a day I sure hope its reputation holds up.
Will defo be posting a few snap shots.

Cheers for the feed back

Yup, a 7 weight and a baseball bat.

Still taking the 3 weight as there is a little river you can fish there.
