I had heard that Jim, was wondering had it perhaps changed. It's pretty cool that they had some guys in to give them a course on deep sea fishing :z16

Jim, I have worked on Heidrun many years ago but there was no fishing but they did fly someone out from Sage to do rod building classes and Statoil provided the blanks. This was only extended to regular rig crew but not us scumbag service hands.

Eddie.

P.S Steven caught a tuna off of the Kikeh platform in Malaysia a couple of weeks ago, he should post the picture.

I learnt to dive off the gas platforms out in Brunei.

We also used to troll close to them for Tuna and "stuff", often going under the walkways that join the accommodation to the productyion facilities.

Tying up to the legs was also good for fishing static for Grouper.

Judging by the amount of tools laying on the sea bed under the platforms, divers had more to worry about from the mechanics than the fishermen!
