Well today was my last chance to fish the river this season, was hoping it would be fishable. when I got there it was high but running clear, my optimism was soon shattered as the rain came doon like stair rods. River was soon like drinking chocolate   on my last cast had a  3lb Brownie which is a nice fish for that beat. Hope to catch it again in the trout seaon next year  





Also you find some strange things on the bank. homemade float tube ?

Looks well upstream. I would say that was a coloured sea trout rather than a brownie.

You could be correct Graham, its sometimes difficult to tell the difference, Its between Fyfie and Methlick.

Mike higly unlikely it was washed upstream from Ellon  Also its about a mile from the nearest road across some really rough ground. Is there a raft race at Fyvie ?

Same thing really, only difference is the fish's general preferred feeding habits. To end all confusion and, at times, heated debate would it not just be simpler to call them 'sea going browns'?  And, on a slightly different note, why do they have different seasons and different size limits?
That said crackin fish Jim, wouldn't look out of place on the Deveron. Maybe you should fish streamers on this water more often 

Love the new 'Ron Thomson' two person float tube, not sure the pockets are very watertight though.
