Artloch Report
« on: April 09, 2007, 20:16:43 PM »
Artloch had more than it fair share of strong, gusting wind last week that is disliked by both anglers and fish.   In these conditions, rises have been erratic and Intermediate lines remain the most successful with trout falling to a variety of lures, buzzers, dries and a wet.   Some evenings have seen the wind drop and when this is happened, anglers have been treated to some excellent rises.

Examples of returns include J Sinclair who braved the wind and left very happy with a 8lb 8oz bow, while S Ray also braving the conditions was pleased with his 9 taken on a variety of nymphs, best at 6 lbs.    T Sampson, fishing the evening rise, released 7 all from dries, including a double figure fish; yours truly only managed 2.   A red-headed Damsel worked well for visiting angler R Taylor who released 10, while J Rennie, using black buzzers, tempted 11, best at 8 lbs.   D Leitch also bagged 11 on buzzers, but visiting angler J Urquhart and R Morrison both improved with 12, best at 7 lbs. using a mixture of nymphs and small lures.   Top rod went to Kent angler P Haynes with 22, caught on a variety of nymphs and buzzers.

Trust you all rolled your eggs................
