Delgatie Castle Fishing Report w/e 12/05/12
« on: May 13, 2012, 16:44:14 PM »
Not much change in the weather although a small rise in air and water temperature has brought the fish up from the depths and feeding at or nearer the surface. With the wind for the past two days moving to a more westerly direction, the cold edge has been removed. With the forecast still mixed for the next week it is difficult to predict fishing conditions although we can anticipate that the fish will be nearer the top and that dries, Buzzers and wet flies may come into their own and produce some catches.

The best recorded catches this week fell to the following anglers:

D Mackay, Inverness, 23 fish, (Buzzers, dries and bloodworm), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 19 fish, (Yellow WSW), G Mackay, Inverness, 14 fish, (Buzzers and bloodworm), A Murray, Gardenstown, 17 fish, (White Fritz), M Guest, Shropshire, 9 fish, (Buzzers), C McLean, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (Wet flies), J Robb, Aberdeen, 9 fish, (Blobs), M Ewen, Turriff, 8 fish, (Dry/Buzzer), K Hilton, Liverpool, 8 fish, (Buzzer/Black Beetle), G Pinnent, Turriff, 7 fish, (Hares ear).

It was obvious that the larger fish had left the bottom by the number of 6-8lb catches recorded with the best being a 10lb + fish.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8:00am til 8:00pm til 31/5/12. From the 1st June the evening opening times will be extended to dusk or 10:00pm.

Visitors are welcome and boats, rods and tackle is available for hire. Booking are not necessary. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
