Ready for Assynt
« on: 29/04/2012 at 11:13 »
After what seems like ages I have finally finished tying and filling my boxes.
My wets box was from scratch, the dries / spiders box was a third full and the salt water box was bought and filled.
Clousers are ace! Dead easy to tie and shiny as a shiny thing.

There are no close ups because some of these flies are classified, level 6 and I'd have to kill you if you had too close a look.  :z7

Assynt is getting closer and for once I was determined not to have a last minute rush.
I can't wait!  :z4 :z4 :z4

Flattery gets you everywhere!  :z16
Never tied a Clouser before, but Youtube helps along with my own ideas on how a Pollock catcher should look. Certainly found out that not all bucktail is equal, that's for sure. The wee ones were made up as I went along this morning with what I found in my fly tying box.

That was the hard one. I gave away almost all my old ones to an old friend of mine and started fresh. Had a Blue Jay shot to order for my Bumbles...

Just dyed a load of stuff up, dyed some Jay wings yellow (unable to source any picric) and got almost the effect I was after.  Also dyed a pile of hares masks claret, something quite strange about watching half a dozen rabbit faces with attached ears bubbling away in a pan on the hob  :z4

I'm now needing to purchase some skin coloured dye from somewhere to return my hands back to normal colour, right one is a nice shade of light claret and the left is bright feckin yellow  :roll

There is this clever invention called the rubber glove Dude....

You selling any of the claret masks? I can't think of a use for it right now but I do love claret! I never go anywhere without something in claret, screwcap or feathered.

Huh hu-huh, shuddup Butthead.
I am the great Corn-holio! I have a tee-pee for my bung-holie!

And now there are young people wondering WTF this is about. How did it go from Assynt to Beavis and Butthead (do a Google)? I'm afraid that is the strange world the me and H live in....
Reality is waaay weirder than fiction.

Rubber glove?  For girls mate  :z4

See how the masks are when they are dry, going to use them to knock up some claret DHE's in case of a flat calm somewhere.

It was a long long time ago, back before DVDs were invented.
It was during the birth of MTV.

So this now begs the question, wtf were you doing buying DVDs of old, not very good, MTV cartoons? FFS, have you nothing else to do with your time?
And BTW, discs are sooo last century.....

...Bitch!  :z7

Keep up dude!

Hamish lent me it and said it was good, he told me to look after it as you'd be wanting it back.
