Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Yesterday (Saturday) saw the fish off for the Troutmaster 2011/2012 competition with favourable fishing conditions suiting the anglers who came from as far afield as Leominster in Hereford. A good day was enjoyed by all with the final senior winner emerging as local competitor Michael Ewen jnr from Turriff with a total of 6 fish weighing in at 13lbs 9oz followed by Macduff competitor Ben Cresswell with a total of 11lbs 7ozs. The junior title went to Jamie Brown from Aberdeen with 5lbz 4ozs.

This week has seen the fishing produce some good catches with the following anglers as the leading group. Fish were falling to a variety of tackle including various lures, nymphs and even a dry fly but the leading end tackle was the Buzzer retrieved slowly.
