« on: 02/04/2012 at 23:27 »
Hi All,

Does anyone know of the Double Tyrell Knot? Im not sure if thats the correct spelling!! Its supposed to be good for tying on the fly.

Ive had a fair old gander for it on the net and cant seem to find it, perhaps it goes by another name?!?!

There is the trilene knot where you double the line through the eye of the hook. Could be the one your looking for?

For tying on the fly try this:

A knot that top UK angler Paul Proctor uses, simple to tie and it works ! The Davy knot is similar and even easier to tie and almost as effective.

I think this is the one you are looking for

Mostly used for salmon flies as it need a bit of space behind the eye of the hook to wrap the two turns of tippet material.
