Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

This week has seen a dramatic difference in the weather with the temperatures dropping quite dramatically as the week progressed. This was copied by an increased activity within the fishing, and catches towards the end of the weekend were much stronger than the earlier part of the week. The fish have also risen in the water column and are more keen to attack Buzzers and Nymphs at the top than to fall to lures fished deep. The bigger fish have also made a return to feeding with several in the 6lb plus range falling to anglers. The main returns this week were recorded to the following anglers:

J Murison, Turriff, 19 fish, (Cat's Whiskers, Buzzers, Blob), A Murray, Gardenstown, 12 fish, (Cat's Whisker), N Thomson, Turriff, 10 fish, (Buzzers), G Linklater, Peterhead, 8 fish, (Yellow Dancer), K Fraser, Greeness, 7 fish, (Blob), S Fraser, Macduff, 7 fish, (Buzzers), J Alexander, Macduff, 7 fish, (Buzzers), D Brown, Ellon, 6 fish, (Cat's Whisker).

Four anglers - J Murison, D Nesbit, K Fraser and G Linklater all recorded fish of 6lb.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8:00am til 8:00pm with visitors and novices always welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats, rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
