The variable temperature and wind conditions have resulted in a dour weeks fishing with the fish up and down through the water column and proving very elusive. Some good catches were still recorded but were the result of fishing hard with ever changing tactics. It was encouraging to see the fish still taking dry flys although this was restricted to short periods during each day.
The main catches recorded fell to;
R Ewen, Macduff, 13 fish, (Greenwell Glory), S Anderson, Peterhead, 9 fish, (Blob), L Davidson, Macduff, 8 fish, (Nomad), G Thomson, Buckie, 7 fish, (White WSW).
The following anglers recorded catches in 5/6 numbers;
N Thomson, Turriff, (Dry fly/ Buzzers), A Sutherland, Fraserburgh, (Cat's Whisker), J Kellas, Whitehills, (Cat's Whisker).
The fish off for the 2011 season takes place on the 7th April and the 2012 competition is now open to all entrants.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water which is open to visitors, locals and all anglers seven days each week from 8:00am til 5:00pm.
