Awesome news Mike!  I will be travelling back to the U.K for 16 days beginning next Tuesday.  Salmon fishing on the Dee 15th - 17th but I will definately be up to see you at least once before I head off again.

Will you be keeping a stock of your new lines at the hut?  If so I will most likely want a play with a WF #4 whilst I am there.

Hi Steven :z16

Yes, I'll be taking a limited stock of lines over to the fishery each day as before.

Best wishes

Hi folks

There is still quite a lot of work to be done in the vicinity of the lake and the entrance to the fishery over the next couple of weeks, finishing roads etc ..... so apologies in advance if the loch is not the usual peaceful Haddo while this is carried out.

The water is a bit brown at the moment too I'm afraid, so I don't know how it will fish for the first few days. I've also been doing a lot of maintenance on the lake, which hasn't helped with the colour.

There were quite a few fish rising today though, so fingers crossed :wink

Best wishes

I didn't stop working to look to be honest ..... but there were olives on the go and there will always be midge. The water is full of darkish looking corixa at this time of year and damsels of course. I'm sure you'll suss something out :wink

I hope the openning day goes well Mike. I am sure there will be plenty of smiles all round!

The nipper is wanting to try fly fishing so hopefully once she is casting a bit better I will be bringing her along. She can't wait!

Hi Liam,

Corixa are also known as Water Boatmen.  Typical fly below...

The lurk down near the bottom and make speedy darts up to the surface every so often.  Trout love them!
