Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The past week has been reasonable settled and the temperature has continued to rise ensuring fish are available in the upper levels and on the surface as well as deep lying fish for the lure fisherman. At this early time in the season it was encouraging when C Maclean from Fraserburgh landed 6 fish on a lightly dressed dry fly with plenty of activity surrounding his offering. At the opposite end of the depth scale M Ewen jnr counted a nice 11lb fish among the six fish that fell to his Blob. The other notable catches this week included;

K Wright, Newburgh, 12 fish, (Bloodworm), B Grey, Largue, 9 fish, (Buzzers), J McKay, Macduff, 13 fish, (Olive Nomad), J Fraser, Macduff, 7 fish, (Olive lure/Buzzers), J West, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (Lures/Blob).

The weather continues to give us hope that reasonable fishing will continue and the changing daily patterns will ensure that the successful angler has to be prepared to adjust his fishing depths and retrieving actions.

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and is open 7 days from 8:00am til 5:00pm. Boats, rods and equipment is available for hire at the fishery. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
