River Shannon

Hi all

In July I'm having a few days boating down the River Shannon with the inlaws and decided to take a couple of rods.
Has anyone fished the Shannon with a fly ?
I know there are pike so that could be fun for summer jacks, I'm guessing there should be some perch and chubb so a few wooly buggers and alike would be worth a go.
Anyone got any hints and tips ??

ROB:

I know you're the forum " pikey"  :z14 any tips on that front for a good braided leader and tippet ? I'm a well seasoned piker but never on the fly.

Cheers Adam
