Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

Mike Barrio

Hi folks

Here are a few preview photos of the new Barrio 3wt

The rods are hand built in Aberdeenshire on our new dark blue blanks. The one in the photos is serial number 001 and it is a 9ft 4pce 3wt.

Yes Mr Mackay, your rod is ready

I am also planning to make the new rods available as kits ...... for those who would like to try their hand at building their own.

A rod will be available at the fishery to "try before you buy"
Best wishes

Hi Mike,

Thanks I will pop in and pick it up.  Looks fantastic in the photos. Putting a serial # on them is a great idea.

Anyone who hasn't tried the prototype of Mike's #3 should definately give it a cast.  Presentation is fantastic and it's very easy to cast.  Also, when playing a fish you can feel everything the troot is doing down through the handle!

Cheers

Hi Tam

We will be building approx ten of the new Barrio 3wts in 2007 and serial numbers 001 to 005 have already been reserved or sold.

The Barrio comes with a nice olive cordura rod tube and costs £150.

And ...... If you would like to try your hand at rodbuilding, we can also supply the blank and all the components to build the rod ( not including epoxy ) for just £100

I hope the above information helps, but please ask for any further details that you would like.

Best wishes

Mike,
Beauty rod!
Considering your other duties, 10 in a year means you're a hardworking man!
Keep the light lines coming!
