Pretty dire reading in the Brown Trout catch returns for Association waters, 3 fish for the last week  :shock :

Sure, the conditions have been far from favourable and effort may be low, but it is a 'jungle' out there just now (unless you are Liam !)... here's hoping for a dry May.

Walked down to the Don at lunchtime. Still quite high but still a bit chocolatey too. Could see maybe 2" at the most. Difficult to tell if it's clearing or getting dirtier.

I think if this continues it will be beyond Friday and right through the weekend......again  :mad Well up at Kintore on the Webcam  :z6

The Salmon spinners will be happy if it starts dropping. Monday past conditions were still very poor and it was the first day out this season that I didn't see a rising fish even though the water had dropped two feet sice Sat evening and was starting to clear. Few flies coming off too but not many.

I think April has had its chips as they say certainly as far as weekend fishing is concerned.

Time to order a new spinning reel I think, mines bust and dont think a fly will be much use for a while.

Was out today, water is high but running clear. Got two kelts on the fly and lost a cracking springer at the bank. Plenty of dries coming off but no browns to be seen.

Hi Liam,

Was out last night for a few hours with the Salmon rod, upper parkhill was well up and pretty dirty.
Looking at the river levels today and how the weather has been i might try further up river in a day or two for salmon again.

Guessing you haven't been out for a while?

Dan,

Damn  :mad no I haven't been for 2 weeks now, seems like forever  :cry how much longer do you think I'll have to wait before trying for the Brownies?  ???

Might try the Urie for a few hours tomorrow. Depending in what Fishpal is saying.

Cheers
Liam

Your asking the wrong person for conditions for Brownies, so far this season i haven't got it right yet. :X1
hopefully with a few clear days the river might be in good shape though.

How is the Don today, Is it running clear?  :z8
Was hoping to go out trout fishing on Thursday at Fintray but if not fishable may just have to go to Lochter for a few hours to keep my hand in. Cheers!
