My New Bamboo New

Almost as eagerly anticipated as the start of the new season was the road test of my new bamboo rod.

Weather was a little cold windy and drizzly but the need to feel a fish on the stick was too strong to resist.

I doubt very much that 3wt bamboo rods were considered during the design stages of the SLX but the WF4F suited the rod admirably (or at least where my casting is concerned).

Iain

And here's me thinking you were a man well endowed with common sense but now you've gone and got an expensive toothpick :wink

Ah well, I suppose you have to be a bit daft to be a fly fisherman anyway.

Irvine

ps. The music is OK on this video :z16

That's a coincidence Peter, I used to go out with a Phyllis Stein  :X2

Jim, I just thought that now we (that's us Scots not you Eastern Europeans) have Pandas it'd be a nice way to turn a conversation onto fishing if at a party for example.  :z18

For some reason, I've always preferred the word "bamboo" to "split cane" ...... perhaps this goes back to my schooldays! :wink

Does this help Noel?

If not, try using w.youtube.com/watch?v=kjp6wqygJrY ..... but with the 3 www at the front?

If not, try going to YouTube and searching for kjp6wqygJrY :z3

So there you have it. Another fisherman turned to the 'Boo side...
Looks lovely Iain and it sticks out a great line.
The video looks good too.Was any of that last batch of music any better for you than the first lot?

As for the whole "split cane " "bamboo" thing, I don't recall pandas ever eating cane. Technically it should actually be "tapered Tonkin grass"... :z7
