Gents,

Now that solway custom components has fallen off the face of the planet where would people go to get the finest cork/synthetic cork?  I bought some last year from solway and it was ace sadly it no longer exists and guides n blanks and David Norwich don't seem to have what I'm after.

I have just taken delivery of some bits and bobs from Shoff Tackle in the US. They have loads of interesting corks.fake cork. Another good one is Mudhole Tackle.

I'm just after some fairly neutral coloured synthetic cork, some burnt burl, some regular burl and some rubberised cork.  Nothing too fancy really.

Sadly they don't have synthetic cork for the main grip.  It was much nicer than the real stuff I got last time.

Ahhhh...a full handle in rubberised cork. Right, you can actually buy that stuff in blocks and sheets in various colours.

These boys make the stuff (for gaskets etc) and apparently make it to pretty much any size.

As for Bloke...I think he stopped doing the q-suber handles or what ever they were called...

Could be worth phoning Mick re the Qsuber ,he does have all kinds of odds and sods floating around .
Do a search for mashama or bloke rods for contact details .
Re the Q Suber i had a look at it a couple of years ago on one of Micks weeks on the Dee and was impressed ,if I built myself would go for it ,value and longevity would sway me .

A deal went down in a carpark somewhere in Dyce today and I was sorted out by a gadgie with some cracking gear! 

What he couldn't sort me out with a certain David Norwich can. More on that laters!

A bit daft really, given his courier is available on a daily basis
