Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The past week has produced good catches with the settled weather allowing the fish to become habit forming and to feed at consistant levels instead of the up/down feeding of the past few weeks. Lures of various colours and combinations being the choice of this weeks' anglers and black and white Fritz and WSW producing the best results. Among the best catches recorded were;

A Gibson, Gardenstown, 21 fish, (Olive WSW), E Quirie, Turriff, 19 fish, (Orange Blob), A Murray, Gardenstown, 19 fish, (White Fritz), A Manson, Perth, 15 fish, (WSW), F Murray, Buckie, 9 fish, (Black Fritz), A Anderson, Peterhead, 7 fish, (Various Lures).

The forecast for the following week appears to favour the angler and good catches can be expected. Whilst we are enjoying the current temperatures, we should remember that last year the 16th November saw our first closure for weather conditions and from there until mid January we were closed four times for various periods. Let's hope we don't have a repeat.

Barring weather conditions we are open all year round apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Our opening hours are 8:00am 'til Dusk and visitors and beginners are welcome. Boats, rods and tackle are available for hire.
