Haddo Trout Fishery ( to Aug 28th )

Hi folks

No report from Haddo last week, as I limited booking availability in order to get a few days maintenance done on the loch. The old lake needs a bit of a haircut every now and then :z4

The Broons have continued to feed on the surface in a somewhat picky manner, a challenge which has proved to be great fun! The wind and rain at the weekend changed things a bit though and the fish appeared to be more willing to take subsurface offerings in those conditions.

Adams, CDCs, Klinks, DHE, Iron Blue Dun, dry GRHE, Sedges, Loch Ordie, Hoppers, Bibios, Dunkeld, Spiders, Silver Invicta, Crunchers, Bloodworm and Damsels have all been on the menu.

Ewan Lindsay enjoyed a couple of good sessions, with 22 fish up to 3 lb and 17 up to 3 lb, Peter Scott also fished the top of the water and tempted 10 up to 4 lb and 10 up to 3½ lb on a second visit. Alex Burnett returned from his travels and soon got to grips with the new Haddo, netting 10 fish up to 2 lb and missing many more. Best troot of the week was probably Mathew Will's 6 lb brownie.

Best wishes
Mike
