Three Degrees Drop at Lochter

                                               Three Degrees Drop at Lochter.
When will I see you again is the question that is being asked about the sun right now .At the very time when farmers are praying for a decent spell of weather to get on with the harvest we have had a most unpleasant spell of cold, stormy weather. The water temperature at Lochter Fishery has dropped by three degrees from fifteen to twelve which is good news for the fishers as it will keep the trout active.
During the early part of the week before the storms set in P Howarth and G Howarth up from Grangemouth had twenty six between them on a mix of blobs, buzzers and diawl bachs while Lochter regular John Parsons had eleven on blobs.
Dry flies continue to score well when conditions are right. D Rae used klinkhammers to score eight ,P Broadley had thirteen using black spiders and bibios and Terry Daniels eleven using hoppers and klinkhammers.
Charles Hendry had a great day on Saturday netting a dozen using a long tail black fritz and another twelve scorer was J Cutler from Inverurie using black pennels and diawl bachs.
Finally warmest congratulations ,for they certainly were not warm,to the hardy seven anglers from Haddo House Club who withstood Sundays storms to land twenty five fish before being forced back into the bothy bar for a well deserved dram.!
