Ireland tomorrow
« on: 17/08/2011 at 22:28 »
Off home tomorrow for a few days to see my mum and sisters. Their may also be a little bit of fishing involved when I can escape...
Just finished packing and when I had stuffed all the fishing shit that I absolutely definitely needed in the bag I was at 17 kilos of a 20 kilo baggage allowance :z4
Few t shirts, jocks, socks and tooth brush. Sorted :z4
I know I promised this last year but definitely this year I will take lots of pics....

Sounds like fun.
May the trout rise to meet you, may the wind give a good drift etc  :wink

Enjoy!

So got a text the morning I was flying home to say the fishing has been so poor that my mate had taken his boat of the lake...not good.
Had a go anyway of course and while it wasn't much of a success I did have 1 trout on my first evening that was about 1lb. No photo sorry as it decided to depart as I tried to get the camera out. That was on a dry in a flat calm, conditions that nobody fishes around those parts.
There was some wind the next evening so I tried the more conventional pulled wets but despite one or two half hearted takes landed nothing.
Here are a few pics of the Lough

Looks idyllic (spelling?) Noel, shame there weren't any more fish about.
