Weather is unfortunately the main topic for this weeks report with persistent, heavy rain on Sunday and Tuesday which led to increased water levels requiring constant 24 hour monitoring and the necessary remedial action, and to subsequent dirty water which did not look particularly inviting, but from which fish emerged regularly. The change in water levels produced good activity for the remainder of the week and the colour is now returning to normal. The other main topic was the emergence of the Daddy Long Legs as the fly of the week with good catches being recorded to this and other dry flies. Fishing was virtually restricted to three days with the main catches falling to;

The wild brownies are now in prolific numbers but elusive to catch.
The forecast for this week would suggest at least a weeks decent fishing with rainfall more intermittent and leading to less accumulation.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster fishery where beginners and visitors are welcome and all equipment including boats, rods and tackle is available for hire.
