Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

At last a more settled week of weather, although the last two days have suffered from a cold North/North Easterly wind which appears to have put some of the fish a bit deeper. However, good catches have been recorded on Buzzers and J Mitchell from Gardenstown landed a creditable 12 fish on a small black dry. The water temperature has not increased too much and has resulted in the fish remaining active and fighting well.

Best catches this week were recorded by;

A Murray, Gardenstown, 40 fish, Black/Green Fritz
M Ewen jnr, Turriff, 21 fish, Diawl Bach/Spider dry
S Anderson, Peterhead, 12 fish, Orange Blob
J Mitchell, Gardenstown, 12 fish, Black dry fly
M Ewen, Turriff, 12 fish, Blob
B Hay, Aberdeen, 9 fish, Bloodworm/Buzzers
N Thomson, Turriff, 8 fish, Montana/Buzzers

Amongst the juniors a creditable 7 fish was landed by 11 year old Alister Caithness of Kirkcaldy on a Cat's Whisker.

The forecast is for temperatures to rise in the coming week and hopefully this will lead to more surface activity.
