Hi All,

Just a quick question about stockies on the Don, the other day i was asked if i was "going for the stockies"?

Im not sure if it was the area i was fishing or my cast etc etc but i had no idea what the guy meant by this, i know about stock fish going into the river but have no idea how anyone could think i was specifically targeting these fish.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Hi Ross, I would guess it was the location you were fishing at. The stockies are put in at certain locations i.e. Parkhill. So did you get any, stockies or otherwise?

Nah not a thing im afraid, low water and very clear on the day, although im new to the game id say it was needing a good dump of rain. I did have a bash at seaton park yesterday but was out done by a bunch of neds throwing bricks and tins of coke into the river, which pissed me off big style! I suppose ive learnt my lesson not to go on a nice sunny day.
