Had a days fishing on holiday last week  unfortunatly it wasnt what i was hoping for  :cry While walking round the docks at Cabo San Lucas marina i meet with a guy flies in his hat, he knew all about teasing the fish in and how to catch roosterfish and dorado on the fly.  Great i though so booked him for the next day.

Up at 4:30 dressed up like a twat armed to the teeth with 9 & 10 weights.  Wife abslolutley chuft to be up at that time off fishing.

Got to the dock where the guy i booked the day off informed me i wouldnt be going out with him but these other two guys.  Who never knew how to flyfish or speak much english so to cut a long story short ended up going for a days big game fishing.

Leaving the docks at 6.  First bit of action was when i spotted a black fin turned out it was a Mako shark we tried to circle the boat and cast to it but it disappeared.  The next bit of excitement was when a couple of dorado took  :z16

Stunning looking fish especially in the water after they were gaffed the colors dissapeared.  Two exploded out of the water and took the lures off the top which was awesome to see.

The last bit of excitement was when we found a big marlin and stalked it for 30mins running the boat in front of it time and time again. Would have been neat to hook it but it never took the bait.

Was an enjoyable day but its not quite fishing you only really winch in the fish still it was fun to be out and it was a stunning place.  There is one specialist fly outfitter there and if i was going back i would book him up before i go as those fish on the fly would be pretty cool.

Some other fishing things

Worlds biggest line caught marlin 4500lb+

Bass pro Shop in Las Vegas.  If Carlsberg did fishing shops they would be like that.

Good report Michael
Pity about the fly fishing but looks like you had a good time anyway.
