Haddo Trout Fishery ( to May 30th )
« on: 30/05/2011 at 20:20 »
Hi folks

The wind has been a pest this week, swirling about and upsetting the trout, but surface tactics still proved best and  F-Flies, Klinks, Deer Hair Emergers, Sedge patterns, Shipmans, Spiders, Buzzers, Kate, Damsels and the Green Pea proved popular fly choices :wink

Denny Mackay enjoyed a good session with 28 fish up to 5 lb, Gordon Mackay had 20 up to 4 lb, Scott Sim 17 up to 7 lb, Ian Brown 11 up to 4 lb and Jason Bradley tempted 11 including a 6 lb rainbow and a 5 lb brown. The brownies have continued to offer good sport and Matt Henderson netted a nice one estimated to be 6 lb plus.

For most anglers the fishing proved harder than normal this week, but it was nice to see Terry Wilton catch his first fish on the fly ( a 2 lb brown ) and first time fly fisher Colin Campbell with 5 fish up to 3 lb!

Best wishes
Mike Barrio
