Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The weather this week has produced some rain but with a minimal effect on water levels or flow as the ground and crops have readily absorbed any moisture. A little less of the bright sunshine this week and this has encouraged the fish to be more active on the surface and immediately sub surface. Whilst considerable numbers of fish are still falling to lures an increasing number are taking on the dry fly and buzzers in various combinations. Quick retrieved "wets" and nymphs have also enjoyed their share of success. Black or black/red have prevailed as the favourite colour combination.
Best catches this week were recorded by:

A Murray                Gardenstown      14 fish
N Thomson             Turriff                  11 fish
G Burton                Gardenstown       11 fish
B Cresswell            Macduff                  9 fish
J McCaw                Turriff                     8 fish
M Ewen  jnr            Turriff                     8 fish
D Low                     Aberdeen              8 fish
