Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

What an abundance of wild brownies showing activity - particularly in the evening rise. The water becomes alive with their performance. Anglers attendance has been slower for the past week which we have put down to bright sunshine, elections and top football matches. When will people get their priorities right?

Several good catches have been recorded this week and leading the way was A Murray from Gardenstown with 31 fish, all on black lures and particularly on a black fritz. Among the other lure fishers, A Gibson from Gardenstown landed 10 on a WSW whilst A Anderson from Peterhead had 7 on black lures.

The "Buzzer" men were led by P Cowie from Fraserburgh who had a bag of 13 fish and with a combination of dry and Buzzers. P Gray and E Quirie from Turriff landed 12 each.

This weekend has seen a welcome return of rain which will hopefully freshen up the water and the fish and we look forward to a good week's fishing.

The fishery is open seven days from 8:00am till 9:00pm and bookings are not necessary. Boats, rods and other tackle are available for hire at all times.
