Delgatie Castle Fishing Report w/e 30/04/11
« on: 01/05/2011 at 17:04 »
What a month April has been! Weather very settled and fishing steady. The bright sunshine has it's drawbacks and the fish have gone very deep except early morning and evening when sport can be enjoyed on, or near the water surface. During the day beaded lures and gold heads have been prevelant and good catches have been recorded at depth including:

P Cowie         Fraserburgh        18    black buzzer
J West           Fraserburgh        18    WSW/cats/fritz
I Watt            Turriff                  14    dry fly
S Anderson    Peterhead          14    WSW
J Flynn           Milltimber            13     blobs/buzzer
A Fernie         Milltimber              9      blobs/buzzer
A Gibson        Gardenstown       8      various lures
B Blacklaw     Ellon                     8      various lures

Top among the junior anglers was Francis West, Fraserburgh with 8 fish on cat's whiskers and fritz variations.

Dare we suggest that rain (at night only) would be welcome and help to freshen the fish and the water. Any rain in limited quantities only.

The fishery opening times are now 8:00am to 9:00pm and boats, rods and tackle are availalbe for hire. Booking not necessary.
